Why it lands with students
Every lesson is built on one rule: the learner does something before they are told anything.
- The question comes before the teachingNearly every lesson opens with a real situation and asks the learner to make a guess. A wrong guess costs nothing. The explanation that follows helps them work out why their prediction did or did not hold.
- Every wrong answer gets an explanationEach wrong option in the 1,766 questions has its own explanation. Students can see why their answer seemed plausible and what they missed.
- It comes back a week laterMissed questions return after a day, three days, a week, two weeks and a month, giving students several chances to recall and apply the idea.
- Put an idea to the test1,223 steps are interactive labs. Students can tune a controller until a robot stops wobbling, fit a line to measurements, or assemble a program and run it.
In Friction, Contact, and Traction, a student is given twelve grasps of the same rubber pad on the same glass jar: how hard each one squeezed in, how hard it was tugged sideways, and whether it held or slipped. They have to tilt one line until every grasp that held sits below it. A level line cannot do it, and finding out why is the lesson, because the point where a grip gives way turns out to be a ratio rather than a force. A student who finishes it can work out how hard a gripper has to squeeze so the part does not slip.

- As the homeworkAssign three lessons for the week. Students work on a phone, a laptop or a Chromebook, and on Monday the roster tells you who finished, who stopped halfway, and who has not opened it.
- As a ten-minute starterOne lesson is short. Open the period with a single one. Because it starts by asking the class to commit to a guess, it makes a better hook than a slide does.
- For the students who finish earlyPoint them at the next stage and let them run. The course carries on well past anything a term will cover, so a fast student never hits the end of it.
- For a bilingual classEvery lesson exists in English and Spanish, and each student chooses their own. Two students can sit on the same assignment reading different languages.

What it costs, plainly. Creating an account, creating a class and inviting students are all free, and so is what your students learn on day one: the whole Foundations layer, the starting course of every track, at two lessons a day, permanently, in English and Spanish. That is enough for homework, a warm-up or an enrichment block without anyone paying anything. Going further than Foundations, or past two lessons a day, needs Premium. A school license gives your class a pool of seats: assign one to a student and Toorova sponsors their Premium for as long as they are in the class, with nothing for them or their family to buy or cancel. Archive the class and the seats come back to you.
You see the learning, they keep their thinking
